MediFactum was founded by professionals who have spent decades inside the legal and medical systems they are now working to improve. The team brings together more than 50 years of combined experience across trial and appellate litigation, medical evaluation, and advanced AI engineering, with academic and technical backgrounds spanning institutions such as MIT, UC Berkeley, and IIT Bombay. The founding group includes experienced litigators who have represented both insurers and injured individuals, a board-certified physiatrist with deep expertise in medical evaluations and patient advocacy, and a highly specialized development team trained at globally recognized institutions. For members of the founding team, this work is personal. After beginning a career defending insurance companies, one founder ultimately chose to represent injured people and saw firsthand the impact that flawed or one-sided medical examinations can have on individuals and their families. Others witnessed how administrative burden, inconsistent documentation standards, and fragmented oversight eroded trust in the evaluation process. From years in the trenches of litigation and clinical practice, a shared realization emerged: the system lacked accountability at critical points where expert reports carry enormous weight. MediFactum grew out of that experience and from a collective commitment to strengthen integrity, fairness, and transparency where it matters most.
Our company is focused on empowering litigators and injured workers to combat AME, (also called "IME"), expert reports that are often ill-founded and routinely ignore principles of medicine. Our software leverages AI to identify inconsistencies between the records and the expert reports, which then presents to the user/attorney an annotated report to help them more efficiently and effectively advocate on behalf of their injured clients. The cost per use will be vastly outweighed by the positive improvement in case outcomes and recovery (as seen in our own practice). Our software does not rely on publicly available AI and is a proprietary build. Data that has been submitted is anonymized to comply with privacy laws and regulations. Our goal is to positively transform the landscape of litigation for injured workers to help protect them and their families from the harm caused by experts and insurance companies that have little regard for the truth. The team behind the project include subject matter experts (two active litigators, a board certified physiatrist) as well as technical experts (leading the development team). Our company is registered and capable of providing service now. We are currently self-funded and looking for financial support to enhance development (including industry application) and go-to-market, first in Minnesota.
After regitstration you create a new case, upload associated data and then let the system do the work. You will get detailed findings with sources and contextualixed, which you can then use to preapre your rebuttal and case.
You will receive an an annotated draft, highlighting you all findings and sources, which you can use to prepare your rebuttal and case.
